DFS MLB Lineups for August 10, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com

For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!

A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Clayton Kershaw can get lit up, and Mike Trout can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.

Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for August 10, 2017

James Paxton @ LAA ($12.3k DraftKings, $9.9k FanDuel)
The Mariners burly lefty is healthy again and dominating lineups with a 1.41 ERA and 11.53 K/9 ratio since the ASB. Mike Trout and the Angles are coming on strong, but he’s flashed less power (still a solid .255 ISO Mark) against LHP this season and he’s really struggled (3-for-22, 11 K’s) in his career against Paxton. Paxton has amazingly earned a win in 7 consecutive starts and should continue to receive ample run support with vulnerable LHP Tyler Skaggs going for Anaheim.

Danny Salazar @ TB ($11.7k DraftKings, $9.3k FanDuel)
Salazar is finally tapping into what the Indians organization hope is a limitless well of potential. He’s struck out 28 batters with just 8 hits and 5 walks allowed to post a 1.35 ERA over his last 3 appearances and draws a juicy matchup tonight against a Rays team that’s rocking the second-highest K-Rate (25.3%) in the Majors this season. Current Rays are just 8-for-53 (.151) with a whopping 24 K’s (45.2% K-Rate) in their careers against Salazar, who is capable of blowing any batter away with his 97 MPH heater.

Carlos Rodon vs. HOU ($7.0k DraftKings, $7.5 FanDuel)
This is clearly a daunting matchup, but Rodon has enough potential to warrant consideration at this low price tag on DK. He’s struck out 31 batters over his last 3 appearances to maintain his impressive 11.87 K/9 ratio this season and his 4.66 ERA will begin shrinking quickly if he can avoid giving up too many more long balls. Houston’s clearly elite against LHP, but with Carlos Correa on the shelf, it may be a little easier for Rodon to go deep into the ballgame. This is clearly a GPP only play and honestly, it’s incredibly tilting to watch Rodon pitch, so if you click his name, find something else to watch tonight!

Other pitchers to consider: Jacob deGrom, Yu Darvish, Brad Peacock, Vince Velasquez

Best DFS MLB Hitters for August 10, 2017

Francisco Lindor @ TB ($4.9k DraftKings, $3.6k FanDuel)
The Indians just concluded a marathon series against the Rockies, but wrapped up in the afternoon to afford Lindor and company a little more rest before tonight’s matchup. After homering on Wednesday afternoon, Lindor will bat righty against struggling southpaw Blake Snell, who is 0-6 with a 4.98 ERA and a matching 5.05 FIP on the season. Lindor is hitting .327 with a .927 OPS and 41.5% Hard Contact Rate when facing LHP this year and has flashed plenty of category juice with 4 HRs and 2 SB over his last 10 appearances.

Danny Valencia @ LAA ($3.9k DraftKings, $3.1k FanDuel)
Save a bit at first base with a player who has certainly been a reliable option in any format when he gets on a hot streak. Valencia’s streaking again with a .421 batting average so far in August and he’s always been a lefty killer, so he’ll almost certainly bat towards the middle of the lineup tonight against LHP Tyler Skaggs. The Angels southpaw, who has struggled at home this season, gives up a 25.6% Line Drive Rate to righties, while Valencia’s hitting .309 with a .919 OPS when facing lefties.

Yadier Molina vs. KC ($3.6k DraftKings, $3.3k FanDuel)
He’s been one of the most consistent catchers to roster this year with a solid .283 batting average and Yadi has gotten very hot lately. He’s sporting a .394/.444/.727 slash line with 2 doubles and 3 HRs over his last 10 appearances and faces a RHP in Jason Hammel, who is allowing righties to hit .292 with a 22.1% Line Drive Rate on the season. Molina is 10-for-24 with 5 XBH in his career against Hammel and seems like a great cash game play this evening.

Other hitters to consider: Nelson Cruz, Ryan Braun, Didi Gregorious, Justin Turner, Paul DeJong, Brandon Guyer, Eric Thames, Yasiel Puig, Yan Gomes

8/10/17 DFS MLB STACKS

Brewers vs Kyle Gibson
The Twins young RHP remains an easy target with a 6.03 ERA and 1.71 WHIP on the season. While Gibson’s been a little better over the past couple of months, he’s still walking way to many batters with a 4.34 BB/9 ratio since the ASB. That’s a recipe for big innings and raises the base-stealing potential of guys like Keon Broxton and Jonathan Villar, if he’s in the lineup. Travis Shaw and Eric Thames have tons of upside as lefty sluggers while Ryan Braun can clearly form the heart of this stack against a RHP that’s giving up a notable 30% HR/FB ratio to righties this year.

Mets vs Vince Velasquez
He could spin a gem tonight and render this stack quite ineffective, but Velasquez has been such a boom-bust option that it’s worth predicting the complete opposite result tonight (you could also play both sides). He is posting a 1.66 WHIP with a 25.3% Line Drive Rate when facing lefties this season, so Michael Conforto and Amed Rosario are solid options. You can also consider Asdrubal Cabrera and Jose Reyes as longshot options while Wilmer Flores has some upside, but the heart of this stack would be the three sluggers listed above.

Other Stacks to consider:
Indians vs. Blake Snell
Cardinals vs. Jason Hammel
Yankees vs. Marco Estrada
