DFS MLB Lineups for September 11, 2017 at Draftkings.com & Fanduel.com

For this daily fantasy baseball season, each day there’s a good slate of DFS MLB games, we’ll be writing up a group of pitchers and hitters that we’re considering for our cash and GPP lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. We’ll also provide a list of stacks to consider, MLB start times, starting pitchers, and game run totals to give you a good idea of where the fantasy goodness might come from on a given night. As with any DFS sport, the advice below is relevant for fantasy purposes. A player or team might be better or worse from a fantasy perspective than they are in real life due to matchup, price, park factor, etc. This is important when constructing a roster. And if you’re looking for new ways to play DFS, be sure and give BOOM Fantasy and DRAFT a try!

A quick reminder while playing DFS MLB, don’t forget baseball is a game of variance. You can make a really solid lineup and still fall short of the cash line. Even Chris Sale can get lit up, and Paul Goldschmidt can still go 0 for 4. Baseball is funny like that. Trust the process and know that if you’re playing quality lineups, you’ll be a winner in the long term.

Another thing to remember outside of making sure your player is in the lineup, is to always check the weather. Always. Make this something that is part of your basic routine. Baseball games can get postponed! Your players receive no points from postponed games!

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for September 11, 2017

Carlos Carrasco vs. DET ($13.2k DraftKings, $10.6k FanDuel)
Carrasco continued to mow down the competition with his third straight dominant start, albeit in a cupcake matchup at the White Sox. He’s now given up just 2 ER and struck out 27 without walking a batter since getting tagged by the Red Sox on August 22 and faces a Tigers team tonight that he’s 3-1 against with a 2.17 ERA over 5 appearances this year. Current Tigers are 37-for-175 (.211) with a feeble .242 wOBA in their careers against Carrasco and they have little to play for other than pride and statistics at this point.

Brandon Woodruff vs. PIT ($7.1k DraftKings, $6.7k FanDuel)
After debuting in fine fashion at the Rays, Woodruff struggled in a pair of tough matchups before porducing 8 K’s and allowing just 2 hits to stifle the Nationals last weekend. The Brewers RHP is definitely worth a look against a Pirates team that ranks 25th in batting average (.247) against RHP and is sporting the second-lowest wOBA (.295) in the Majors over the last 30 days. He’s been clutch with a 90.2% Strand Rate over the small sample of 4 starts, but it doesn’t seems as if this rookie will quail under pressure.

Chris Stratton vs. LAD ($6.5k DraftKings, $7.4k FanDuel)
Normally you wouldn’t trust a rookie against the league-leading Dodgers no matter how talented he may seem, but the Dodgers are actually dead last in the MLB with a collective .260 wOBA and 37 runs scored over the last 14 days. Stratton might have faltered in his last start, but that came at Coors Field and he went 2-1 with a 0.97 ERA while tossing at least 102 pitches in each of his previous 4 outings. Pitching at home in a spacious ballpark, Stratton should be able to post another Quality Start as long as he doesn’t walk too many batters as has been his issue.

Other pitchers to consider: Zack Greinke, Marco Estrada, Kenta Maeda, Jason Hammel, Jake Odorizzi

Best DFS MLB Hitters for September 11, 2017

Francisco Lindor vs. DET ($5.6k DraftKings, $4.5k FanDuel)
On this relatively small slate, it makes sense to pay up at a shallow SS position for the only player with immense upside when he’s hot. Lindor is slashing .310/.407/.667 with 4 HRs and 2 SB over his last 10 appearances and he could head an Indians stack against rookie RHP Myles Jaye, who might as well be entering a hornets’ nest by making his first MLB start at the red-hot Indians. Jaye posted an uninspiring 3.96 ERA over 25 outings in the Minors this year and allowed LHB to hit .311 with a 1.74 WHIP against the platoon at the AA level.

Hernan Perez vs. PIT ($3.8k DraftKings, $2.8k FanDuel)
All he does is hit. When Perez gets a chance to start (and that’s becoming more and more frequent these days), the guy just seems to mash. He followed up a 5-RBI game on Saturday by going 2-for-4 on Sunday and although he was caught stealing, that adds to his potential upside. Perez should start tonight against vulnerable southpaw Steven Brault, as he’s hitting .344 with a .877 OPS against LHP this season. Brault’s been consistently rocked over 7 appearances this year and he doesn’t allow many homers, but Perez can do plenty of damage while staying in the ballpark.

Whit Merrifield vs. CWS ($3.6k DraftKings, $3.9k FanDuel)
His price tag is somehow $300 higher on FD, so Merrifield is best approached as a tournament play on that site but a great value on DK in tonight’s juicy matchup. The Royals face an unproved RHP in Reynaldo Lopez, who is posting a notably low 28.8% Ground Ball Rate with a 1.61 HR/9 ratio over 4 starts this season. Merrifield’s rocking a 22.8% Line Drive Rate throughout his two-year career and he’s hitting .302 with a 12 HRs and 12 SB over 64 home games this season.

Other hitters to consider: Jose Ramirez, Edwin Encarnacion, Ryan Braun, Nelson Cruz, Mike Moustakas, Domingo Santana, Delino Deshields, Ketel Marte, Robinson Chirinos

9/11/17 DFS MLB STACKS

Indians vs Myles Jaye
Lindor is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of an Indians stack tonight as they look to continue winning at an historic pace. While Jaye struggled more against lefties in AA, he allowed RHB to post a .306 average with a 4.25 ERA in RvR matchups over 11 starts at the AAA level. So, Edwin Encarnacion and steady cash game play Austin Jackson are very much in play. Yet the most appealing Indians bat aside from Lindor is tiny phenom Jose Ramirez, who is hitting .423 with an eye-popping 1.695 OPS so far in September. Lonnie Chisenhall could round out this stack if he hits second again in between Lindor and Ramirez.

Diamondbacks vs Kyle Freeland
As the other hot team in the Majors, the D’Backs are certainly capable of piling onto Freeland’s troubles. The Rockies southpaw has given up 10 ER on 22 hits with a weak 1.10 K/BB ratio over his last 3 appearances, while Arizona’s lineup becomes exponentially more daunting for a lefty with Paul Goldschmidt returning this weekend. A.J. Pollock is another lefty killer with a short history of success against Freeland and J.D. Martinez is of course hitting .390 with a startling 53.6% Hard Contact Rate against the platoon this year. And if you need value additions, consider Chris Iannetta at catcher and switch-hitting SS Ketel Marte.

Other Stacks to consider:
Blue Jays vs. Ubaldo Jimenez
Brewers vs. Steve Brault
Royals vs. Reynaldo Lopez
