Nathan MacKinnon @ CHI ($7.7 DK / $8.6 FD)
It’s really hard to ignore what Nathan MacKinnon is doing lately. His price tag is high, but the Nova Scotian leads the NHL with 16 points over the last two weeks. He has a very impressive seven goals, eight power-play points, and 45 shots in eight games since returning from an injury. MacKinnon logged 31 shots on goal in his last four games alone and leads the NHL in points per game as well as DraftKings/FanDuel points per game. He is very much in the Hart Trophy conversation. Lastly, Chicago’s 58 goals allowed over the last five weeks are the third most in the league.
Paul Stastny @ NYR ($5.6 DK / $5.7 FD)
Paul Stastny has six shots, two goals, two assists, and a plus four rating in three games with the Winnipeg Jets. Two of his four points came on the power play, and he’s skating alongside Patrik Laine, who has 10 goals and 15 points over a current eight-game point streak. You’ll want to get a piece of those two. The Rangers have allowed the most shots and fourth-most goals since Feb. 1.
Others to consider: Aleksander Barkov, Brayden Point, Jonathan Toews
Viktor Arvidsson vs. DAL ($6.2 DK / $6.7 FD)
The Dallas Stars are playing the second night of a back-to-back and lost starter Ben Bishop halfway through last night’s game. The Predators lead the NHL in wins since Jan. 1 and goals since Feb. 1, and Viktor Arvidsson has five multi-point games in his last eight. He enters tonight with seven points over a current four-game point streak. Overall, he has six goals and 13 points in his last 10 games. He also has 15 shots on goal over his last three.
Cam Atkinson vs. VGK ($5.8 DK / $6.2 FD)
Cam Atkinson still isn’t priced correctly for what he’s been doing since returning from injury. Atkinson has 62 goals over the last two seasons but only 13 this year. Four of those 13 goals came in the last 10 games where he has a total of eight points (three on the power play). The Blue Jackets’ winger has 38 shots over that span and hit the 20-minute mark in four of those 10 games.
J.T. Miller vs. FLA ($4.8 DK / $5.9 FD)
J.T. Miller scored his first goal as a member of the Lightning in his last game. His 19 minutes in that game were his most in his new home. He has three points and five shots in his three games and is now skating on the second unit with Brayden Point and Yanni Gourde. That’s a fantastic line, and this game has one of the highest over/under totals of the night at six. Florida and Tampa Bay lead the NHL in a tie for most power-play goals since Feb 1. with 15 each, but the Lightning also allowed the most PPG over that span (14).
Nick Bjugstad @ TB ($4.7 DK / $5.2 FD)
Nick Bjugstad and the Florida Panthers have really stepped it up of late. The Panthers have won six straight, and Bjugstad has 10 points in his last 11 games. His recent play has him on the top line with Aleksander Barkov, who enters tonight on a six-game point streak with a total of 17 points in his last 11 games. Bjugstad’s value lies on DraftKings, and he’ll provide some salary cap relief. Tampa Bay may seem like a strong defensive team, but they’ve allowed the fourth-most shots and seventh-most goals over the last six weeks.
Others to consider: Mikko Rantanen, Kyle Palmieri, Reilly Smith, Jason Zucker
Tyson Barrie @ CHI ($6.1 DK / $5.6 FD)
Tyson Barrie has seen his price jump more than $1000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel in the past couple weeks. Still, he’s worth the money. That’ll happen when you register 15 points in 17 games since returning from injury. Barrie leads all defensemen in goals (3), points (11), and power-play points (8) over the last two weeks. His 25:59 minutes per game over that span is the sixth-highest mark. He’s an absolute steal on FanDuel.
Ryan Ellis vs. DAL ($5.4 DK / $5.3 FD)
In the last two games without Roman Josi, Ryan Ellis played 27 and 26 minutes. He scored goals in both of those games and finished with a total of five points and nine shots. Ellis also picked up a power-play assist, giving him three total points on the PP over the last 10 games. Ellis doesn’t need Josi out of the lineup to be productive as he has 13 points in his last 11 games, but it certainly boosts his value.
Others to consider: Dustin Byfuglien, Torey Krug, Sami Vatanen
Anton Khudobin vs. DET ($8.3 DK / $7.8 FD)
Anton Khudobin will save you a few bucks if you’re playing on FanDuel. Tuukka Rask is expected to miss another start due to a lower-body injury. Khudobin is one of the better backups in the league with a 14-4-4 record, a 2.34 goals against average, and a .921 save percentage. He’s won six of his last nine starts, and his opponent tonight ranks 28th in goals per game.
Charlie Lindgren @ NJ ($7.0 DK / $7.7 FD)
Charlie Lindgren is just one of several backups going tonight, all of which are pretty cheap. Lindgren has a win and a shutout loss which came in a shootout since his call up. On the season, Lindgren has respectable 2.22 GAA and .931 SV% in 10 starts. The Canadiens have points in seven straight games, while the Devils have lost three straight and five of seven. NJ has scored three or fewer in eight straight games. This game has low scoring all over it, and wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to go the other way with Keith Kinkaid.
Others to consider: Devan Dubnyk, Steve Mason
