I hope you all have had an awesome, profitable week. I look forward to providing insight into the day’s games and hopefully enough to get each and every one of you “in the money” at the end of the day. I can be found on FanDuel and DraftKings as “bravesbaseball12” and on Twitter @tbadger23. Please provide feedback on this article so I can meet your needs and continue to improve it!
Sonny Gray [OAK] (FD: $10,200, DK: $9,700)
Sonny is having a spectacular year thus far, allowing more than 2 ER in just 2 of his 9 starts. He’s a heavy favorite to get the W today in OAK and faces a Tampa Bay team that ranks 19th vs. RHP. Don’t be scared to pay up for Gray today.
Francisco Liriano [PIT] (FD: $8,700, DK: $8,000)
Liriano seemingly is the definition of a boom or bust play. He has the potential to be an excellent play but struggles often with his command, which in turn allows for favorable spots for opposing hitters. Liriano has posted at least 20 FPS (DK) in 6 of his 8 starts. While the Mets have had a great start to the year, they’re in the bottom half of the league vs. LHP. I love Liriano to get back on track today at home.
Stephen Vogt [OAK] (FD: $3,500, DK: $3,800)
Vogt has been exceptional this year, posting a .447 wOBA vs. LHP along with a .324 ISO. Ramirez has been strong vs LHH this year but for me, Vogt’s numbers are too strong to ignore, especially at this price and his spot in the lineup.
Chris Iannetta [LAA] (FD: $2,900, DK: $3,700)
Iannetta will bat 6th today, his highest spot in the order this year. He’s historically been better vs. LHP in his career, posting a .378 wOBA in his career. LHP Wade Miley has struggled a bit with RHB this year, and Iannetta’s price puts him in a great spot.
Brandon Moss [CLE] (FD: $3,600, DK: $3,900)
Brandon Moss is about to go on another hot streak, I can feel it 🙂 Moss has hit 2 HR’s in his past 4 games and gets to face off against a rookie RHP at home–where he’s hit 31 points higher as opposed to away from Progressive Field.
Chris Davis [BAL] (FD: $3,100, DK: $4,300)
HR’s win GPP’s. Chris Davis will homer today. RHP Tom Koehler has allowed all 7 of his HR’s to left-handed batters.
Dustin Pedroia [BOS] (FD: $3,000, DK: $4,100)
Pedroia has always done well vs. LHP and he leads off today for the BoSox. Santiago has allowed ALL but 1 of his XBH to come to RHB and Pedroia should see at least 5 AB’s today. He’s a great cash game play on the day.
Brian Dozier [MIN] (FD: $3,700, DK: $4,500)
Dozier has posted an .860 OPS vs. LHP this year and will also be at the top of the order today. Dozier will dong today. Has a nice ring to it doesn’t it? I like him as a GPP play here.
Miguel Cabrera [DET] (FD: $5,100, DK: $5,600)
Do I really need to explain? His price will drive people away and you know what you’re paying for. He’ll be under-owned and is an elite spot today.
Josh Donaldson [TOR] (FD: $3,800, DK: $4,400)
Everyone jumps on Donaldson vs. LHP and rightfully so. However, he’s got the whole package. 6 of his 9 HR’s have come against RHP and he’s batting .364 / .380 / .670 at home this season. He’ll be a popular play, but is a tough fade today IMO.
Jung-Ho Kang [PIT] (FD: $2,900, DK: $3,800)
Kang has been an excellent find for the Bucs. He’s batting .302 on the year and .389 / .476 / .667 vs. LHP. The sample size is still small but he’s still hot and worth riding at his low price point.
Luis Sardinas [MIL] (FD: $2,200, DK: $2,700)
Sardinas gets the call at the top of the order today and makes a nice value play here. He’s not going to provide more than 5-7 FPS but some is better than none. He’ll get the opportunities and allow you to build around a nice core of hitters.
Hanley Ramirez [BOS] (FD: $3,400, DK: $4,500)
Sure, Hanley has been struggling as of late as he’s just 6 for his last 32. This won’t last for a guy who hits LHP at a .307 mark in his career. This is a perfect chance to buy low for the 31 year-old.
Mike Trout [LAA] (FD: $5,400. DK: $5,300)
If you can afford Trout, why isn’t he in your lineup. He’s posted a .302 / .395 / .553 line this season with 8 SB’s. He can get you points in every category and there’s more than enough value to fit him in your lineups today.
Hunter Pence [SF] (FD: $3,400, DK: $5,500)
PENCE IS A MUST-PLAY ON FANDUEL. Seriously, $3,400? As usual, the over/under in COL is at 10.5, and if you’re going to take one Giants player, Pence would be a nice choice. He’s had multi-hit games in 4 of his first 8 games back. While he’s still searching for his first HR of the year, he’s still going to be productive.
Charlie Blackmon [COL] (FD: $3,800, DK: $4,400)
Sticking with the high over/under, Blackmon is 8/23 vs. Hudson (.348). He’ll be somewhat of a contrarian play with his recent struggles, making him a nice GPP option on the day.
