We have a few different slates going off at our favorite DFS sites today. I am going to try to give you a few different options across the different slates on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
Noah Syndergaard, New York Mets (FD $8400, DK $10.400) – Syndergaard has allowed just 5 runs over his last 4 starts while striking out 30 and he gets to take on a pretty weak Washington Nationals lineup today. The Nationals started out as -140 favorites and that has dropped all the way down to -118, which says that things are trending in Syndergaard’s direction and the game has an over/under of 7 runs. Both pitcher in this game make fine options.
Jose Fernandez, Miami Marlins (FD $10,300, DK $10.000) – Fernandez and the Marlins are a -117 road favorite in Arizona tonight and on paper it is a tough match-up, however Fernandez is filthy and should be able to rack up a handful of strikeouts in this game. The D’Backs lineup is dangerous so Fernandez is going to have to be on top of his game in this one. The game has an over/under of 7.5.
Lance Lynn, St Louis Cardinals (FD $9600, DK $9900) – I think Lynn makes the best option tonight as he gets to take on a White Sox team that he went 6 innings and struck out 6 while giving up just 1 run against 3 weeks ago. Lynn and the Cardinals are -132 favorites and the game has an over/under of 7.5 runs. Lynn’s opposing pitcher is John Danks and I always like to see Danks as the opposing pitcher.
Julio Teheran, Atlanta Braves (FD $8100, DK $7100) – Teheran is an interesting SP option tonight as the Dodgers spanked him earlier in the year however his numbers when pitching at home have been filthy so far in 2015. He is 5-0 in 9 home starts with an ERA of 2.18 and a batting average against of .195. The Dodgers are a decent favorite in this one as they are sitting at -149. The game has an over/under of just 7.5.
Jordan Zimmermann, Washington Nationals (FD $8700, DK $8700) – I love the match-up for Zimmermann tonight as most will look at Syndergaard and shy away, however the Mets lineup has been horrid for the better part of 2.5 months and Zimmermann should be able to put up a stellar stat line in this one for a cheaper price than that of Syndergaard.
Sonny Gray, Oakland Athletics (FD $9900, DK $10,700) – Gray was roughed up his last time out and now he gets to face a very dangerous Toronto Blue Jay team. With that said, I think he makes a GREAT GPP option as he is very high priced and people will automatically fade him for the match-up and price and look elsewhere. Gray had been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball for the first half of the season.
Jake Odorizzi, Tampa Bay Rays (FD $8400, DK $8300) – Odorizzi is coming off of a rough start against the Blue Jays, but thankfully gets to take on a very very weak Phillies lineup that currently has Cesar Hernandez in the 3 spot. Odorizzi and the Rays are -155 favorites and the game has an over/under of 7.5 runs.
Texas Rangers: Delino DeShields Jr. (FD $4100, DK $4200), Rougned Odor (FD $3900, DK $3700), Prince Fielder (FD $4400, DK $5000), Adrian Beltre (FD $3900, DK $4400) – I think the Rangers are in the better spot today in Coors as De La Rosa has really struggled. I am torn on which side of the plate to take hitters from so I am open to taking anybody in the lineup as De La Rosa has been a reverse splits pitcher so far this year, however in years past had been dominated by right handed hitters.
Tampa Bay Rays: Steven Souza Jr (FD $2600, DK $4000), Evan Longoria (FD $2600, DK $3500), Logan Forsythe (FD $2900, DK $3400), Joey Butler (FD $2400, DK $3400) – I think this is a stud stack that might be over looked as the Rays have really struggled for the most part recently and tonight they get to take on a left handed pitcher and lefties are who they mash against. I could see adding in Guyer as I believe he is in the lead off spot.
Colorado Rockies: Charlie Blackmon (FD $5000, DK $5100), Troy Tulowitzki (FD $4600, DK $5200), Nolan Arenado (FD $5000, DK $5400), Wilin Rosario (FD $3500, DK $3400) – The Rockies are not as potent against left handed pitching however Martin Perez is coming off of a lengthy DL stint and did not look very good in his first start. I think Stubbs, Hundley/McKenry and even LeMahieu make interesting options.
Cleveland Indians: Jason Kipnis (FD $4000, DK $4900), Michael Brantley (FD $3600, DK $4700), Brandon Moss (FD $2900, DK $3800) – The Indians really let me down yesterday against Garza, but I am going to go back to the well today as they face Kyle Lohse, who has arguably been the worst starting pitcher in the majors this season. I would not argue you including Lindor, Murphy or Santana in your stack.
There are plenty of options to use for GPPs at the P spot today/tonight. I would be an idiot if I didn’t mention pitchers like Wilson, Shields, McHugh, Hendricks and Ray. There are a few other bat options as well as the Twins are taking on Wilson after being shut down last night and we love to target Twins bats against left handed pitching. Other bats that intrigue me are the Yankees, Orioles, Angels and the Cubs. As always, make sure to check the weather as well as lineups to make sure everything is good to go for you. There are a lot of day games today so there may be a few guys getting rested and as of this writing one name stands out and that is Ryan Braun. An interesting inclusion into the lineup for game 1 of the double header today is Schwarber after he caught 13 innings last night. He will be pretty highly owned unless your favorite site adjusted his price.
